Hello fellow Boxing fans!!
 
I am including in this email a website address for our local newspaper.  We wrote a "Letter to the Editor" of the Summerville Journal Scene in which that letter was published today.  You can view our letter & plea for help online.  The main reason I am telling you this is because there was a comment posted online regarding our letter and boxing that is really rather negative.  PLEASE take a few minutes to read the letter & the comment that was posted.  Then if you feel so inclined, leave your own comment about either the letter or what amateur boxing is REALLY all about!  Negative comments like the one posted are part of what is hurting this sport.  If we band together & educate the unknowing public, then maybe boxing will become the popular sport it once was.  Boxing is about so much more than just 2 people putting gloves on & stepping in the ring.  We ALL know what a positive impact boxing has been on so many people... 
 
PLEASE pass this on to ANYONE that is associated w/your club(s)-former boxers, current boxers-it does not matter!!  Bottom line, boxing in the state of South Carolina (and probably other states as well!!) is getting a bad wrap & we need to stick together to stop it!
